Fiestas y Tradiciones

Fall in love with our people’s traditions that will make you feel part of them in this wonderful Andalusian village called Benalmadena.

  • Holy week (March or April): : Each evening Andalusian people will transmit you their enthusiasm for the processions. Besides, during the Holy Thursday and the Good Friday you can go back 2000 years with the performance of El Paso, a play performed in a natural scene where about 200 actors represent the life, passion and death of Jesus

  • Corpus (May or June): An old tradition where all Benalmadena Pueblo residents participate. A very beautiful carpet of flower petals and aromatics herbs made by Benalmadena residents the night before where the procession goes through.

  • Veladilla del Carmen (July 16): Benalmadena Costa celebrates a procession dedicated to the fishermen.

  • Fiestas de la Virgen de la Cruz (August): During August the most traditional celebration of this village takes place. You will be fascinated by the decoration of the streets, women in flamenco dresses and men riding horses in each corner.

  • Arab Souk (September): During this celebration the Al Andalus heritage appears. Belly dancers, Arab music, storytellers, handicrafts, Arab cuisine… will transfer you to the One Thousand and One Nights.
